Winter's Coming
Lake Superior Tombolo on 9/28/2024 at 5:41am
Hoping to catch Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS rising in the pre-dawn sky, I struck out in the early morning to a well-known Tombolo Northeast of Grand Marais. The comet didn't pan out ... there was just too much glare on the Eastern horizon. But I did get a chance to shoot the Winter Constellations along with Mars and Jupiter rising over the Tombolo. There's even a hint of the Milkyway.
Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS will have to wait until mid-October. But the return of Orion reminds me that Winter will soon be here!
