I only had one planned target when heading toward East Glacier: Wild Goose Island. The only question ... would the aurora be visible in the Southern skies? Oh yeah!
This was a rare shot for me. It's one of the few that looked better in person than on camera because of how bright the aurora was. To my eyes, it looked like multiple high-powered spotlights were shooting across the sky from behind the mountain. It was so bright, and the edges of light so distinct, it didn't look real.
