The aurora forecast had predicted a moderate G2 display this night, but its arrival was several hours late. With a bright moon washing out the sky, I didn't expect much when the CME finally did impact.
The display itself was rather muted, but the camera was picking up some nice shots. I continued shooting several sequences before calling it a night. Once I started post-processing, it didn't take long to pick which sequence to use. I had captured a shooting star ... a really bright one at that!
It was actually a Geminid, but I completely missed it while on-site. Just another stroke of luck that my camera was pointed at the right place at the right time.
